Mana Hale Foundation

Mana Hale
Small Grant Program

Rooted in care. Built for belonging.

Mana Hale Foundation creates housing with heart, developing inclusive, affordable communities where people of all ages can live with dignity, stability and connection. We know we are not doing that work alone.

Through our Small Grant Program, we are making two one-time grants of $10,000 each to California nonprofits already delivering results in affordable housing and senior services. These are organizations housing families, keeping seniors in their homes, and building the capacity that makes more housing possible.

You are eligible if your organization:

  • Is a 501(c)(3) public charity in good standing with the IRS
  • Is based in California and serves California residents
  • Has demonstrated impact in affordable housing or services for seniors

Who Can Apply?

We give priority to organizations serving households between 50% and 100% of area median income, and to organizations serving adults aged 62 and older. We are especially interested in work that pairs housing with the services that help residents stay housed.

We prefer to give general operating support. We will consider project-specific requests.

What We Fund

Lobbying, ballot measure work, or political campaigns. Membership dues, sponsorships, or event tickets. Scholarships or assistance to individuals. Endowments, debt retirement, or capital campaigns. Religious activity.

What We Do Not Fund

The application is short. We ask for four things:

  1. Proof of your active 501(c)(3) status
  2. A signed certification regarding lobbying activity
  3. A certification regarding any relationship with Mana Hale Foundation or its affiliates
  4. One paragraph on your work, the results you have achieved, and what the grant will be used for

Applications are due October 31, 2026.
Decisions and funding follow within 30 days of the deadline.
